Today, I played good music. I can finally say that. I can say I am playing with people and am surrounded by many artists, like me. I wish a younger me was still around. I'd see the glow on her face when I tell her that I've finally learned barre chords and how to strum while singing.
|
||||
|
||||
I haul a guitar and an amp on my person, both 1.5 hours to and from ███████ on the bus. I don't mind it. Not heavy, more tedious than anything. But I should be more careful. Something's wrong with the innards and I can't risk damaging the body too. Bastard who sold it to me didn't tell me that.
|
||||
|
||||
Today I saw a man on the ride home. His limbs were absurd, his long arms made his hands passed his knees. He plopped onto the seat opposite to me. He danced sporadically, sticking his tongue out, making the rock and roll hand with his left and his right curled around musical device. It had LONG antenna on top of it. Guess a radio? That's cool. I though it was a cassette player at first but then the antenna wouldn't make sense. I've never seen anything that looked like it before.

He was singing out loud. I didn't recognize the first song but he went all out for Queen's Don't Stop Me Now. He kept looking to the back of the bus. I hummed along quietly. But once he got off (ironically, sung the chorus while he pulled the cord) the people he looked at earlier started to clap and laugh. Clapping is good but the laughing was mean.

I got home and set up my early Christmas present. My sister got me a mic stand. I somehow fucked up. I hurt my thumb. I took a solid 20 minutes trying to work out how the adjustment's supposed to be. Look at this. This is not right.

Today was a very snowy day. I stayed over at Adil's and we watched as his pine tree and the neighbouring roads and roofs were gently blanketed white.
|
||||
|
||||
I don't really like the winter. Though, I do get to stay inside and listen to more music.
|
||||
|
||||
The best winter music would be in the realm of *Godspeed You! Black Emperor*, *Thee Silver Mt.Zion* and *Boris* (recent recommendation, thank you Ian.)
|
||||
|
||||
There's another band like above who's very underrated: *Natural Snow Buildings*.
|
||||
|
||||
I got recommended this band via a Reddit user I was talking to during the summer. We had similar taste in synth-pop and post-rock and were going to collab. We sent each other our music and he was very good on the keys. We made plans to meet up at the start of September, but I had a lot on my plate that I decided not to.
|
||||
|
||||
I felt really bad for suddenly ghosting him and never talking to him again. He messaged my sometime in October but I didn't respond to that, either.
|
||||
|
||||
But I recently discovered that, dear God, he's a manosphere bro. And there is a particular figure he seemed a big fan of. Christ, it was right in his username. The one I saw for weeks straight during the summer. I dodged a fucking bullet. My avoidance really came in clutch this time. (Though, he seemed very nice and polite in our DMs. So maybe *I'm* jumping the gun.)

Today, I saw my bf after a while of not seeing each other! We only saw each other for a bit, and didn't do much, but it was still great.

At night, when I have no distractions, I find myself fantasizing about hypothetical parallel universes that *could've* been if I just did something differently.

||||
|
||||
This means 1) I need to practice living without mindless distractions and be okay with me and my thoughts again and 2) though these worlds are fun to imagine they ultimately dampen what I do have here.
|
||||
|

I can't get to a point where my dopamine receptors are so fried that I can't appreciate the life I have now. That sounds awful.

It's clear how much passion and drive he has and like I'm just so in awe how it's never stopped. He deserves all the hype and more.
